After the Almost (Part II): Why We Stayed…And Why We Started Nude in the First Place.

We could have stopped. Honestly… most people would have.
That moment where you might get seen? That’s usually where the story ends. You laugh, grab your clothes, and say, “Okay that was fun, let’s not push it.”
But not Asana and me, oh no, that's not enough to stop us when we are passionate about something. And I think that says a lot about why we started naked yoga in the first place.
“Okay… but why are we actually doing this?”
I remember laughing and saying that out loud, ”Like, how did we get here?”
Standing in the desert, completely nude, halfway through a flow, possibly being watched by a tiny moving dot in the distance.
Asana just looked at me and smiled like, “You know exactly why.” And I really did.
It Was Never About Being Naked
We didn’t start nude workouts to be bold, or even edgy. We started because we were tired of feeling slightly (or mostly if we are honest) disconnected from our own bodies.
Do you know that feeling?
Where you’re doing everything!! Working, showing up, taking care of people, but you’re still just a little disassociated.
Well that was it for both of us too.
Trainers like Chiara combine their love for movement and outdoors. Chiara will help you reconnect to your body in Whispers of Serenity from her beautiful Italian terrace.
We Both Love the Outdoors (Like, Deeply)
This part matters more than people think.
We’re both the kind of people who feel better outside. Barefoot, the sun beating on skin, air moving with us and between every part of us.
The kind of girls who would rather sit on the ground than a chair, who notice the way the light hits the mountains, and who actually feel a place.
So bringing naked yoga into the desert? It wasn’t random. It felt like the most natural progression for us.
Like, if you’re already trying to reconnect to your body why not do it somewhere that reminds you how alive you are?
The Moment After the “Almost”
After we realized we might not be alone, we did pause. There was definitely a second of, “Okay… do we stop?” And then I said, “If they see maybe they’ll want to join!” Asana and I both rolling in laughter.
Asana replied ”Maybe they will want to join and we’ll make new friends.”
Staying Changed Everything
Once you move through that moment instead of backing out of it. Something shifts. Your body wakes up in a different way, neuroplasticity has kicked in forming new neural connections, expanding us beyond our norm.
The ground felt warmer, the air felt sharper, and my breath was deeper and more nourishing.
This is what people don’t always understand about nude workouts with expert trainers, it teaches you how to stay present even when your mind wants to check out. That applies way beyond movement.
It Became Less About the Practice, More About the Experience
At some point, we weren’t even “doing yoga” anymore. We were just moving. Stretching where it felt good. Pausing when we needed to. Letting the body lead instead of the mind. That’s the part that really sticks when you allow yourself to go beyond the lead of others.
Sometimes the practice takes a backseat and the experience is what will change you. Asana, Audri, and Dani help you understand this in Euphoria Unleashed
There’s Something Spiritual About It (Even If You Don’t Try to Make It That Way)
We all know by now that I’ve always believed in something bigger. God. Energy. Creation. Whatever name you want to give it.
And being out there fully present, fully in your body, nothing between you and the earth, it is sacred.
Like, this is what it means to be alive.
We Didn’t Rush to Leave
That’s how I knew it mattered. Because we didn’t immediately grab our clothes and go. We stayed we made it into more than just a push outside of our box type of thing.
We laid back in the sand and let the sun hit our skin without thinking about it. And just talked. Because conversation with Asana about the deeper things in life comes so easily.
Why I’d Do It Again (And Probably Have)
Not for the thrill of almost getting caught, not even for the story.
But for that feeling of being completely in my body. Not needing to adjust or perform or think about how I look. Just allowing myself to exist.
Final Thoughts: It Was Always About Coming Back
Back to the body, back to the moment, and back to something real.
Naked yoga just happens to be a tool that got us there. If you’ve ever felt even a little disconnected from yourself, or like you’re moving through life just slightly outside your body…We get it!
And that’s exactly why we started.
