We Walked a Mile in Sand to Create Nude Art

By Asana

We went to the Beach with big dreams and absolutely no respect for the weather. Being together for a week had reinvigorated our nymphy-ness (is that a word?). Barefoot, flirty, creative, and possibly delusional, we fully believed we were about to capture something legendary.

The place we were cohabiting, a stunning mid-century modern house with a pool, had already turned us into a small, laughing cult. Coffee in the sunroom. Deep-ish conversations, Bare feet on warm wood floors. Music playing while Dani stretched nude in the kitchen… kitchen Dani?!? Sasha doing ten things at once without ever looking stressed. Rhy quietly becoming the most competent person in every room. Audri moving like she knew exactly where the light was at all times. I was pretending I controlled it, camera in hand, laughing like the sun, and I was in on the same joke.

So, of course, we decided the California coast was the next logical step.

The second we stepped out of the car, the cold slapped us like it had been waiting. The sky was bright but the air was wet and sharp, the kind of coastal chill that goes straight through your clothes and into your bones. The ocean looked dramatic, gray-blue and metallic, and the cliffs made everything feel like a movie.

Sasha always with the bare feet. Watch Dani & Sasha in bed partner stretches

Sasha was first out the door, obviously barefoot, stepping onto gravel like it was plush carpet. She had a tote bag full of water, snacks, and a folded blanket she’d grabbed “just in case,” because Sasha was always prepared in a way that made the rest of them feel simultaneously safe and slightly irresponsible. Dani bounced behind her, talking nonstop, voice bright and fast, hyping the day up like it was a rave. Audri walked beside me with her sweater wrapped around her shoulders, but falling off one side, calm and glowing, looking like she hadn’t tried at all. Rhy trailed quietly, steady and observant, scanning the ground with that focused, detail-oriented look she got when her body was thinking before her mouth did.

I had the camera bag on my shoulder, and I couldn’t stop laughing.

Not because anything was that funny, but because I love this par, the part where we’re about to make something. Where the day feels full of possibility. Where we’re all together, and a little wild, and the world feels big.

“Okay,” I said, adjusting the strap. “We find a hidden spot. We shoot something coastal. Something raw. Something… free.”

Dani spun around, walking backward like she was on a runway. “The ocean better give us something because I did not shave my pussy for nothing.”

We lost it immediately.

From the overlook, the beach looked empty. Like we’d discovered a private stretch of coastline that had been waiting for us. But the second we started walking north, it became obvious the universe would keep humbling us.

There were always people.

A couple holding hands. A guy with a dog. Two women power-walking like they were training for something. A family in windbreakers.

Dani kept turning around like she was personally offended.

“Why is everyone here?” she demanded. “This is the entire ocean. Why are they choosing our exact strip of sand?”

Sasha didn’t even look back. “Because you’re spiritually loud.”

Audri laughed softly. “That’s true.”

Rhy, without a hint of judgment, said, “People like walking in straight lines.”

Dani stared at her. “That’s… upsettingly accurate.”

We kept walking anyway. Because that’s what we do. We commit. We overcommit. We keep going until we find the perfect spot, and then we act surprised when the wind tries to kill us.

Eventually, I spotted it, YES! a rock shelf tucked behind a tall formation, half-hidden from the main stretch of beach. It even looked like a secret room carved into the coastline. The waves crashed close enough to mist our faces, and the rocks made a natural barrier.

“This is it,” I said, grinning. “This is our spot.”

We dropped our bags and immediately realized the second truth of the day.

It was f-ing freezing.

Not cute freezing. Not “this is invigorating” freezing. Freezing like the coast was laughing at us.

Dani hugged herself dramatically. “I would like to file a complaint.”

Sasha laughed, still barefoot, still somehow thriving. “Offer it up.”

Audri the Angel?! (maybe) Find more from Audri Here

Audri just stood there smiling, calm and luminous, hair blowing perfectly across her face like the wind had a crush on her. She didn’t complain. She didn’t panic. She looked like she was about to be photographed, which was annoying, honestly, because she always looked like that.

I looked at all of them and started laughing again.

“Okay,” I said. “Maybe we’re not doing the full… coastal nudity fantasy today.”

Dani pointed at me. “Thank you. I was not built for suffering.”

And that’s when Rhy started taking her clothes off.

No drama. No announcement. Zip-up. Leggings. Sports bra. Folded neatly and set aside like we were in the living room.

We all stared.

“Rhy,” Dani whispered, “you are not a real person.”

Rhy blinked. “I’m warm when I move.”

Sasha made a sound like she was laughing and dying at the same time. “That is the most Rhy thing I’ve ever heard.”

Rhy the epitome of balance, grace & strength. Watch Rhy go deep here!

Audri smiled, genuinely impressed. “She’s like a machine.”

I lifted my camera and grinned. “Okay. Perfect. Rhy is the hero today.”

Rhy stepped up onto a flat rock near the edge, ocean roaring behind her. She planted her feet like she was anchoring herself to the earth, and then she flowed into a deep backbend like gravity was optional. Arms steady. Chest open. Hair falling toward the stone.

It was ridiculous how good it looked.

I started shooting immediately, laughing between clicks because I couldn’t help it. “Oh my God,” I said. “Rhy. Don’t move.”

“I am not moving,” Rhy said from upside down.

Dani bounced in place trying to stay warm. “I’m getting hypothermia in solidarity.”

And then — because the universe loves timing — voices drifted over from the beach.

“Hey! Beautiful spot!”

We all froze.

I started laughing before I even turned my head. “Of course there are.”

The hikers appeared in the gap between rocks and then stopped when they registered what they were seeing: naked yoga, camera, four bundled women trying not to scream-laugh.

The woman laughed first, delighted. “Oh my God. Okay! Work!”

The man looked away so fast he nearly tripped.

Sasha burst into laughter, loud and full. Dani nearly folded in half. Even Audri laughed, soft and warm, eyes sparkling. Rhy held the pose like she’d transcended embarrassment entirely.

I kept shooting, shoulders shaking. I don’t know why, but it made it better. It made it real. It made it ours.

When they finally passed, Dani exhaled dramatically. “We need tickets. Wristbands. Something.”

Rhy stepped down and calmly started putting her clothes back on like nothing had happened.

The rest of us stayed bundled. The cold had won. Rhy was the only one brave — or insane — enough to actually go fully nude that day, and honestly, it felt right. Like the coast had chosen its champion.

We ended up collapsing together on the sand, huddling against the wind and laughing. I dropped down first and, without thinking, rested my head in Dani’s lap because it was warm and I am not above using my friends for heat.

Dani immediately started playing with my hair like it was a reflex. She was grinning down at me, cheeks pink from the cold, eyes bright.

“You’re chaos,” I told her.

She shrugged. “You love it.”

And then Dani leaned down and kissed me.

Quick. Bold. Playful. Like a joke. Like a dare. Like affection was just something you did when you felt happy.

I made a surprised sound and then burst into hysterical laughter, grabbing her arm as I sat up. Dani started laughing too, louder, and the two of us dissolved into that breathless, can’t-breathe kind of giggling that makes your stomach hurt.

Sasha doubled over laughing.

Rhy blinked slowly and said, “This is statistically predictable.”

We screamed.

Audri laughed too — warm, charming, composed — but I saw it. Just a tiny flicker in her eyes. Not dramatic. Not mean. Just… a little spark. The kind that says, I noticed that.

I sat up, still laughing, and crawled over to Audri. She was standing there like the coast had styled her personally. I looked up at her and, without thinking, squeezed her butt playfully through her sweater.

“Jealous?” I teased.

Audri smiled slowly, tilting her head, eyes soft. “Never,” she said sweetly — and then leaned in close enough that only I could hear her add, “But you can squeeze me again if you’re offering.”

I laughed so hard I had to grab her hips to steady myself.

Dani shouted, “I KNEW IT!”

Sasha shook her head like she was watching a documentary about her own friends. “You’re all insane.”

Rhy, deadpan, said, “Yes.”

The wind kept whipping around us. The ocean kept crashing like it was performing. And no matter how hidden our little rock shelf felt, there were still people wandering down the shoreline in the distance, like the world refused to let us have anything fully private.

But somehow it didn’t matter.

We didn’t get the big nude shoot we imagined. We got one fearless Rhy backbend against the wild Pacific. We got almost being caught. We got laughter so loud it echoed off the rocks. We got a kiss that turned into hysterics. We got a butt squeeze that turned into a whole new mood.

And later, when the sun started to drop, everything turned gold.

The wind softened just enough. The sky went peach and rose and molten orange. We took a hundred sunset photos — warm light, softer faces, hair tangled, cheeks flushed. Arms slung around waists. Foreheads touching. Dani mid-laugh. Sasha barefoot at the edge of the water like she was blessing it. Rhy standing solid and quiet against the fading light. Audri glowing in profile like she was carved out of honey.

I moved between them, laughing, shooting, pausing sometimes just to look at them like I couldn’t believe this was my life.

We went to Bodega Bay for nude yoga.

We left with windburn, one heroic naked backbend, a stolen kiss, a playful butt squeeze, and a whole sunset worth of proof.

Rhy on the rocks fearless as ever! Watch Rhy and Sasha also fearless here!

Proof that we were here.
Proof that we were alive.
Proof that even when it’s freezing and there are always people walking by—

we’re going to do it anyway.
